A first for us .... A FAKE WAKE .... yes we hosted a fake wake that has attracted attention from the Ray Darcy Show on Today Fm, Tom Dunne on Newstalk and Clem Ryan on Kfm radio. Also the Star newspaper and the Irish Daily Mail. See the photos in our gallery :-) Thank you to our friends from Colorado, what a great bunch of people :-
A piece taken from the book The Irish Pub-
FEATURED IN THE BOOK "THE IRISH PUB",THAT RARE THING, A PUB WHERE MUSIC AND SPORT COMPLEMENT ONE ANOTHER.
Clancy’s represents the old style Irish bar and much has been done to bring it back to its original edwardian state. The exterior is painted in the traditional combination of signal red, black and white. The old red formica sheets are still present on the bar counter. What is an unusual feature in a pub nowadays, smoke stained walls lined with memorabalia including pictures of former customers who once supped pints of porter in the pub. Here is a tribute to the way things were, a representative record of what survives and a reminder of the continuing allure of the Irish pub. In these pages, everyone can find the real thing.
